Located 30km south east of the Melbourne CBD, Dandenong is actually a city with a major manufacturing and commercial area, making it the largest activity centre outside of the CBD. With a population of 16,729 (2006 Census), 55% of it’s residents are born overseas from a number of different backgrounds.
Dandenong is, with the help of the government, undergoing a “Revitalising Project” with over $1 billion dollars being spent on the area creating 5000 jobs and 4000 new dwellings to Melbourne's flagship Central Activities District, making the Dandenong Area, the place to be. |
